NATCH-2 Jinn!

In the midst of this mad dash to qualify for AKC Nationals, I have been doing a smattering of NADAC trials. Jinn has been nailing Chances pretty consistently and by getting 2 of them this past weekend at ITZ she finished her NATCH-2! I am tickled with how grown up she has become. Even though she is still super tuned into the environment and can be distracted or stressed, she buckles down and works hard for me. I can't ask for anything more. She is even getting a bit sassy from time to time which I love. Onward and upward baby girl!

Triple-Triple Jinn!

Jinn ran her little heart out for me this past weekend at the Canines in Action trial. She got both Chances which completed the requirements for her Elite Triple Superior award. That also completed her Triple-Triple Superior Award!

Shamelessly sucking up to the judge. Good girl! ;)

For those that don't know what goes into this achievement I will explain. In each level in NADAC, Novice, Open and Elite, you can stay and earn your Superior titles. That takes 200 points (20 - 10 point Qs) in Regular, and 100 each in Jumpers and Chances. If you get your Superior title in those 3 classes in Novice and Open you get your Novice and Open Superior Award. In Elite the number of points needed for Superiors doubles so you need 400 points in Regular and 200 in each of the other classes. So when it's all said and done the Triple-Triple award is a combination of 160 qualifying runs! I am so proud of my little girl and the honest and fun teammate she has become. I can't believe how far she has come from my distracted little worrier and now she's competing at the highest level quite successfully in both NADAC and AKC. She still has her "Jinni moments" but she has matured into quite a consistent girl. Love my little Jinni-Boo!!

A Successful AKC weekend

We had to make a sacrifice and miss my club's NADAC trial and my Doberman club's annual match but we made the trip to New Jersey for the Tail Blazers agility trial. It was worth the tough choice because Jinn had a nearly perfect weekend and chalked up another 2 QQs toward her MACH and finished both her MX and MXJ titles! I am super proud of her for adjusting so well to a brand new place to her (Dream Park) which was loud and very distracting with 3 rings running all at once. She never missed a beat. On top of all that distraction, some of the courses were quite challenging and she really rose to the occasion. Rich Knecht got a really fun shot of her coming out of the weaves, looking happy and a bit crazed which I like to see.

Luxx is deciding in her old age that she would rather only do one set of weaves a day so no QQs for her, but she did finished her MJP title and get an extremely hard FAST Q. She ended the weekend 4/6 which is fine indeed for a 9 1/2 year old lady.

Another fun part of the weekend was getting to visit with Loki's littermate Fergie and getting to meet his older half-sister Spanky. We got the 3 little meatballs together for a family photo. It was fun chatting with Nikki and Rose and comparing notes on living with Borderstaffies.

I am so proud of all of my guys, they are individually doing things that constantly impress me with their heart and will to please. I am a lucky Momma indeed.

NATCH Jinn!!

My darling no-longer-baby-dog Jinn finally got her last needed Chances leg to finish her very first NATCH at the Canines in Action trial this past Saturday, the 27th of April. It has been a long and bumpy road with this girl, but she has really blossomed into a pretty consistent and honest teammate. I am so very proud of her. Now just onward and upward to Versatility NATCH and then beyond!

Jinn AXJ and OF!!

We only got into Friday of the Dauphin AKC trial at In the Net in Palmyra, PA. It has been a while since Jinn has been in that building and she was terribly spooky on her first run in Standard. But by the middle of the run with some encouragement from me she pulled it together and ended happy. I guess that good feeling stuck around because she went on to finish her Open FAST title and her Excellent Jumpers title later that morning!! The Jumpers course was tight and twisty and she worked very hard to stay on course and qualify. She is such a good and honest girl. She just worries sometimes...

This was her first trial since her new little brother Loki came home, so I am very pleased to see that she isn't  holding too much of a grudge. Far from it in fact they are best friends!!

Welcome to our newest addition!

On the day before Easter, my fantastic husband Josh flew out to Las Vegas and back to pick up our newest family member. He is a Borderstaffy from Lisa Kronz. His name is On Target's Mischief Managed, known to the rest of the world as Loki!! We also call him Bacon. :)

I was looking for something smaller, fast and fun that had a smooth coat. It also had to be tough enough to live in a house full of Dobermans! My friend Tracy has a half brother to Loki who I fell in love with a few years ago and I had to have one like him.

I am still a Doberman girl through and through, and there will be many more Dobes in our future. But this time around it was time for something a little different. I am very excited to learn all of the lessons that Loki has to teach me and to see where our journey together takes us.
